Will Getting Another Dog Help

The short answer is maybe, maybe not.

If your dog is happy with company of some sort and it doesn’t matter if that is you or anyone else then it could help. If your dog is only at ease when you’re home then it’s not likely to help at all.

One way to test the theory is to offer to babysit a dog for a friend or relative. You could also contact a local rescue group and try fostering a dog for them short-term. If your dog is perfectly happy in this scenario then getting a second dog is likely to help.
