Diet and Dogs

It is widely accepted that diet plays a major role in the mental health of any being, whether human or canine. Therefore, the value of a good quality diet cannot be underestimated in the behavioural health of dogs.

Commercially prepared foods such as dry foods (kibble) often contain numerous preservatives, additives, flavourings and dyes that are used in the manufacturing process. These chemicals can have an adverse effect on behaviour, research seems to support this. Other ingredients contained in commercially prepared dry food are known irritants to dogs, such as corn (typically present in vast amounts in dry foods).
